Duration : 12mo+ contract

Location : Hybrid 3x a wk onsite in Charlotte, NC

Top Requirements:

Required Education/Certification:

  • Scaled Agile Certified: SAFe Agilist, RTE, or SPC

Other Required Skills:

  • Ability to set up new Agile teams and guide them through their forming journey
  • Experience with Jira and Confluence
  • Experience with both Scrum and Kanban teams
  • Experience in developing a transformation strategy for multiple trains and driving the execution of maturity milestones and goals
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)

Scope of Work:

  • Overseeing new and existing team Agile maturity
  • Managing 30-90 day team transformation periods
  • Overseeing all Agile cadences during the transformation of teams
  • Working with new teams to ensure their assessment is completed and providing action items
  • Supporting existing Agile Release Train for any gaps
  • Fostering a community of practice and continuous improvement on Agile processes

Position Summary: The Senior Agile Coach / Release Train Engineer is responsible for enabling teams, up to an entire Agile Release Train, to learn, implement, and mature Lean-Agile principles and practices. This role involves training and coaching teams on Agile and modern engineering practices, empowering them to become self-managing, fulfill their cross-functional potential, and embrace a mindset of relentless improvement. The Senior Agile Coach guides and supports the transformation to Lean-Agile, educating leaders on the mindset and performing hands-on training and coaching in all aspects of Lean-Agile. They coach lead roles and teams to adopt a Lean-Agile and learning mindset, provide guidance on creating and managing an intake process and a healthy backlog, and facilitate valuable Agile ceremonies. The role includes aligning teams to Enterprise Agile standards and practices, coaching team members through change, facilitating discussions and decision-making processes, resolving conflicts, and identifying and resolving organizational impediments that impact team maturity and performance. Additionally, the Senior Agile Coach provides feedback to management regarding the progress of Agile adoption within their teams and helps form and sustain the DMT Agile Center of Excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive maturity and guide one existing Release Train
  • Support successful implementation of PI Plannings with 10 Agile Teams
  • Scale up one additional Release Train
  • Transform 15+ new Agile teams by Q3
  • Facilitate meetings across both onshore and offshore teams and time zones
