Position overview: 

The Department of Healthcare and Family Services (HFS)’s, Division of Child Support Services (DCSS) is seeking to hire a highly qualified and motivated professional to serve as a supervisor of the Administrative Support team. This position will develop, coordinate, and monitor performance standards and quality control for the operations of the Statewide Tax Offset and Appeals program.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills to be successful in evaluating the operations of the Administrative Support team, implementing objectives for improvement, while maintaining working relationships with other government professionals, organizations, and public stakeholders.

Essential Functions

  • Under general direction, serves as the Data Gathering Unit Supervisor, in planning, directing, and evaluating the operations of the statewide Data Gathering Unit (DGU) program
  • Serves as a working supervisor
  • Directs the activities and quality control within the Data Gathering Unit
  • Develops and implements management studies to track and monitor performance standards and quality control for the operations of the Data Gathering Unit Program
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college, preferably with courses in business or public administration.
  • Requires two (2) years of responsible administrative experience in a public or business organization

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two (2) years of experience analyzing and interpreting a child support system such as the statewide database system
  • One (1) year of experience interpreting provisions of the State and Federal code as it relates to the Child Support Tax Offset and Appeal process
  • Two (2) years of professional responsible administrative experience working in a child support program
  • Two (2) years of experience developing and maintaining working relationships with internal and external partners
  • Two (2) years of experience supervising staff
  • Two (2) years of professional experience overseeing a supportive program function for a public or private organization

Specialized Skills

  • Requires two (2) years of experience analyzing and interpreting a child support system such as the statewide database system.
  • Requires one (1) year of experience interpreting provisions of the State and Federal code as it relates to the Child Support Tax Offset and Appeal processes
