Our client, a North American leader in custom plastic extrusion and high-performance polymer processing, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer with expertise in plastic extrusion and tooling design to join their growing team in Morrisville, PA.

With 14 locations nationwide and expanding, this company is looking to add an on-site engineer who will own the engineering function—designing and optimizing tooling and extrusion processes for custom plastic products used in lighting and industrial applications.From quoting and design through full-scale production, you’ll manage projects, troubleshoot processes, and adapt designs to meet material and tooling changes. You’ll collaborate closely with operators, production teams, and leadership to drive process improvements and ensure smooth transitions from samples to production.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in plastic extrusion, tooling design, and a passion for continuous improvement. Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates outside the Morrisville, PA area!

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the quoting, tooling design, process development, and troubleshooting for new custom plastic products for Lighting and Industrial applications.
• Oversee projects from concept to production, ensuring detailed documentation of all new processes.
• Troubleshoot existing processes and adapt to material and tooling changes across multiple sites, communicating updates to all involved locations.
• Improve processes for line speed, ease of startup, and higher efficiencies.
• Collaborate with operations teams to transition samples to production quickly and effectively.
• Coordinate with operators to implement and communicate best practices.
• Work closely with customers to understand their needs and design programs for ease of processing and material selection.
• Support QC efforts by performing First Article Inspections, documenting processes in ISO-friendly formats, assisting operators on inspection equipment, and investigating part rejects.
• Partner with Supply Chain to track projects from concept to full production, optimizing material handling and reducing changeover time.
• Execute and improve Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), streamlining processes to enhance accessibility and efficiency.
• Develop and deliver safety training related to material processing hazards.
• Contribute to the introduction and implementation of fluoropolymer processes within the company.

Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience in plastic extrusion manufacturing
• Must have extrusion tooling and die design experience
• Proficiency in CAD software.
• Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles and process improvement strategies.
• Ability to analyze manufacturing workflows and implement efficiency improvements.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively across teams and locations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.

Salary : 90,000 - 120,000

Hours : Monday - Friday, 7:30a-4:30pm

Location : Morrisville, PA (Onsite)
