Social Media Specialist Position Description
Development Services Group, Inc. is seeking a Social Media Specialist the Office of Communication and Support Services (OCOM)n of the Office of Justice Programs.
Job responsibilities:
· Managing the OJP social media presence, creates and publishes engaging copy and social media content for audience-based strategies.
· Developing digital communication products.
· Writing social media content highlighting OJP announcements, reports, publications, press releases, news updates, web content, job postings, and open press events, and integrates creative ways to connect the public with OJP.
· Analyzing and interpreting data and draw actionable insights to grow social platforms and increase audience engagement.
· Writing and editing dynamically engaging copy to attract a variety of audiences.
· Staying informed on emerging industry trends and innovations.
· Assisting the digital media team with the planning, organization, and scheduling of social media content.
· Assisting OCOM staff with researching and writing creative communication products, sometimes on complex and controversial subjects, for dissemination on OJP digital platforms.
· Assisting with organizing and updating the digital media content calendar, commemorative event calendar, and social media scheduling calendar.
· Developing creative social media marketing and digital content strategies and campaigns that help keep target audiences engaged and informed across OJP platforms.
Minimum Experience: Five years of directly relevant work experience in social media. Strong understanding of social media management platforms (e.g., Sprinklr), their audiences, and best practices. Excellent storytelling and oral/written communication skills required. Requires strong organization to coordinate social media storytelling across OJP and its programs.
Education Requisite: Bachelor’s degree
